I generally concede to having two favorite movies. Casablanca and Shawshank Redemption. I have always thought it deserved the Oscar much more than Forrest Gump in 1994. And that, most certainly, is saying something. Fewer movies come more finely crafted than this. Every scene, every line, every character and every relationship is efficient and nearly perfect.
